Justice for Families Presents at JDAI Conference

Families from our local partners in Virginia, Louisiana, Illinois, New York and Texas joined us in Houston for the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Juvenile Detention Alternatives (JDAI) Initiative Inter-site Conference. The JDAI Conference is one of the largest gatherings of juvenile justice professionals in the country and this year's conference attracted nearly 700 participants.

Liane Rozzell, Ernest Johnson, Grace Warren, Jeannette Bocanegra and Tarsha Jackson participated on a plenary panel, moderated by J4F Co-Director Grace Bauer.  Our plenary panel both demonstrated and really drove home the importance of family involvement in the planning and treatment of individual children as well as in system reform and practice.

The panel was reported on in “Youth Today” last Monday.  To read the article and see the families that spoke, click here: “Families Demand Say in ‘Dysfunctional’ System”
