Justice For Families is based in the Bronx, NY, and serves communities across the USA, focusing on urban and suburban areas where systemic injustices are prevalent.
Our programs are designed for families, community leaders, and members seeking solutions to social injustices. Formal training opportunities focus on individuals aged 25-50 from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds nationwide.
Local NYC-based work includes leadership development for older youth and emerging adults with foster care and youth justice system involvement, as well as positive youth development activities for neighborhood (school-age youth).
We address systemic injustice by organizing and uplifting the voices of directly impacted families, transforming the systems that criminalize youth, and pushing for policies rooted in community needs, racial equity, and healing. We build family leadership, advocate for rights, and partner with communities to create real alternatives that interrupt incarceration — not just manage it.
Justice for Families is unique because we are led by the very people most impacted by youth incarceration — families and youth themselves. Our work is grounded in lived experience, not just research or policy. We uplift community wisdom, train families as leaders, and make sure their voices drive change at every level — from local organizing to national reform.

Justice for Families has helped shift power back to system-impacted families. We’ve trained parents and caregivers to advocate for their loved ones, strengthened community voice in policy decisions, and supported reforms that reduce incarceration and expand healing-centered alternatives. Our work has helped move communities from isolation and harm toward connection, leadership, and real change led by those most affected.
